Separation Partners was established by Neil Power with a view to guide separating couples through this oftern challenging chapter of their lives.

Neil is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner who helps people navigate difficult conversations, resolve disagreements and find practical ways forward.

Before moving into mediation, Neil spent more than 25 years working in finance and property. He held senior roles including Managing Director of a funds management business and Director of a property investment business.

​

That career involved managing businesses and people and, often, difficult situations where conflict arose between parties.

 

It taught Neil the importance of staying calm when emotions are running high, understanding what is really driving any disagreement, and finding a way forward that everyone can work with.

Neil brings that experience to mediating family and parenting disputes.

 

His approach is practical and straightforward. He doesn't take sides or tell people what they should do. His role is to help people have the conversations they may be struggling to have on their own, identify what really matters, and work towards arrangements that are workable for everyone — particularly where children are involved.

As a father of two adult sons, Neil also understands that separation is not simply a legal or financial process. It is a significant change to the way a family operates, and the decisions made during that period can have consequences for years to come.

Neil was born in Dublin and moved to Sydney in 1998. He holds an Honours degree in Economics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution. He is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator with AMDRAS.
